Høj Nordic Marine Contractor is undertaking a technically demanding remediation project, removing contaminated sediment with high precision to ensure safe and environmentally handling.
The project is executed with our specialized fleet, M/S Lea Høj and our split barge EH3, in close collaboration with an external dredging fleet.
The work is conducted in a shallow-water area, which requires meticulous precision and planning. To prevent over-dredging, which could lead to unnecessary costs, we operate with extremely tight tolerances on the desired depths. In areas where M/S Lea Høj cannot navigate, our partner’s dredging fleet assists in transporting the sediment to our units.
“The remediation of contaminated sediment requires a carefully controlled process, with a strong focus on both safety and environmental considerations. Our experienced team and advanced equipment ensure that the work is carried out with high precision, minimizing waste and handling the material according to the highest standards,” says CEO Michael Normann, Høj Nordic Marine Contractor.
The excavated material is unloaded into Høj Nordic Marine Contractor’s split barge EH3, positioned alongside the quay. From there, the sediment is loaded to trucks for further onshore treatment in a deposit area for contaminated materials. Preventing spills of sediments in the harbor basin is crucial throughout the process, placing high demands on our methods and collaboration.
This project highlights Høj Nordic Marine Contractor’s expertise in precision remediation and the management of complex marine environmental operations.
