The expansion of the marina in Skovshoved was an extensive and interesting project that encompassed tasks such as demolition of existing wharves and piers and dredging of rocks and sand prior to the construction of new piers.
They were built from rock and gravel filler covered by a protective layer of stone slabs.
As part of the expansion, one of the new piers was to cross an existing wastewater pipeline. As the pipeline was older, it could not stand up to the weight of the new pier, and a supportive layer of concrete slabs was required.
We therefore had to dig along both sides, about 2,170 m in all. Using a diver, we then leveled the seabed to install two gravel beds with a tolerance of +/- 3 cm. Then we placed concrete elements weighing up to 18 tons and sheet piles above the existing pipeline.
