In this project we carried out scour protection repair works in German waters. The project was executed with the vessels Aase Høj and Vilma Høj and involved the placement of stones around 12 wind turbines to protect against erosion.
A key challenge in the project was the risk of contact with wind turbines and cables, which required a high level of precision in execution and planning. The work demanded careful coordination of permits to work, daily planning meetings with the control center and other stakeholders in the wind farm, as well as a multibeam survey plan. Additionally, the project involved extensive logistics related to the loading of stones and passage through port locks.
Current and tidal conditions, as well as weather impacts, played a crucial role in execution, and precision in stone placement was essential to ensure correct positioning in relation to the turbine blades and the vessels’ positions at each location. This project once again shows Høj Nordic Marine Contractor’s ability to work close to structures such as e.g. wind turbines, cables etc.
The project highlighted the complexity of offshore wind projects and the importance of thorough planning and technical expertise to ensure successful completion.
