Høj Nordic Marine Contractor has carried out an erosion protection project at the Alssund Bridge around piers 5 and 6. The task includes the delivery and placement of approximately 1,800 m³ of stones to protect the surrounding slopes and banks against erosion.
The stone material was delivered by truck to quay and onshore facilities south of the Alssund Bridge and from where it was loaded onto the vessel Aase Høj. The crew on board the vessel handled the precise placement of the scour protection, supported by Aase Høj’s own excavation system. The work was carried out according to profile and followed by continuous quality control, ensuring both accurate placement and documented execution.
Aase Høj at work
Aase Høj is particularly well-suited for stone placement projects, featuring a loading capacity of 200 m³, a wire crane system capable of lifting approx. 12 tons, a shallow draft, high maneuverability, and specialized equipment.
The project at the Alssund Bridge has been completed with a focus on precision and documentation. With Aase Høj and the PDS-2000 system’s detailed excavation plots, the stones have been placed correctly according to profile, creating robust erosion protection
