In Videberg Hamn on Sweden’s west coast, nine buoys had to be relocated while sediment was removed from the harbour and fairway – without compromising on precision or safety. Høj Nordic Marine Contractor has completed the complex dredging project, improved accessibility and ensuring safer maritime conditions in the area.
Nine buoys – same position, new location
To make room for the dredging works, the nine buoys were temporarily removed. An equally critical phase followed: repositioning them exactly at their original locations.
This required close coordination and the use of advanced navigation and dredging systems, ensuring high accuracy throughout the entire process.
Built for the task
The dredging was carried out using M/S Camilla Høj, a specialized contractor vessel designed for this type of maritime operation. The vessel is equipped with a hydraulic excavator and environmental buckets, enabling both efficient and environmentally responsible dredging.
In addition, Camilla Høj is supported by three spud legs, providing a stable working platform even under challenging seabed conditions – a crucial advantage in a project like this, where operations took place close to existing installations such as the nine buoys.
When experience makes the difference
The project in Videberg Hamn required precision, safety and strict project management. It is the combination of an experienced crew, modern equipment and specialized vessels like Camilla Høj that enables Høj Nordic Marine Contractor to successfully deliver complex dredging and deepening projects – even under demanding conditions.
The project was carried out for Vattenfall, with Ringhals AB as the client.
